Government Sends a Warning to Prophet David Owuor

The Nakuru County Government has threatened to sue Prophet Dr David Owuor’s Ministry of Repentance and Holiness over environmental degradation.

The county’s Environment Department accused Prophet Owuor’s followers of using twigs in their marches to celebrate the alleged resurrection of a woman identified as Rosa Rotikarori aka Mama Rosa, who hails from South Pokot Sub-county, is said to have died after being taken ill for about a month only to resurrect days later.

According to Nakuru County Director of Environment Kiogora Muriithi, every Sunday over 2,000 worshipers walk in a procession for about five kilometres pulling down tree branches along the route. "This cannot go unpunished. The county government will engage with the church leaders to educate their followers on the need to conserve the environment in towns and their homes," Kiogora stated.

Kiogora noted that police and county enforcement officers would arrest and prosecute any worshiper found tearing down branches and twigs in Nakuru starting Sunday.

The church, through Archbishop Litunda, a former District Commissioner, however, denied destroying the environment, adding that they will obey the law.

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness Kings Outreach Church is located at the Nakuru Showground about four kilometres from the Nakuru Central Business District. Prophet Owuor is a scientist by profession turned prophet and televangelist.

He claims to receive end time visions from the Lord regarding the nearness of His coming.
