Reports indicate the young woman was in possession of a phone that was used to send threatening messages to Mr Msando. According to police officers, the girl was arrested in Awendo, Migori County.
The suspect was brought to Nairobi where she appeared before the Kiambu Juvenile Court and has been remanded at the Muthaiga Police Station. She will be detained for a period of seven days to enable detectives finalise their investigation.
Msando was buried in his family's home in Lifunga Kobiero, Siaya County last week. The former IEBC Manager's body was discovered in a bush in Kikuyu on July 31. He was killed alongside a 21-year-old woman identified as Caroline Gumbu.
