250 Voters Seek to Have IEBC Delete Their Names from Voters Register Because it meaningless to Vote. Will you VOTE Again??

Some 251 Kenyan voters are seeking to have the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) remove their names from the voter register.

The petition that targets 100,000 signatures started circulating soon after President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner in the 2017 General Election.

Many of those who have signed the petition expressed dissatisfaction with the just concluded polls. "Elections conducted in Kenya are not a true reflection of what Kenyans aspire," one petitioner, Anthony Onyango, wrote.

Another disgruntled petitioner stated: "I would like to join the movement [for] getting our names from IEBC (register). I took six hours voting and that seemed not to work."

"We are persuaded that many Kenyans have lost trust in the IEBC and have a right to have their names expunged from the register. "It is our position that the events before, during and after the elections did not lend themselves to the conduct of a free, fair, credible and transparent election.

We, therefore, demand for an audit of the entire process by an independent auditor," explained Harrison Mumia, an atheist activist. Mr Mumia intends to have more protesting voters sign the petition all through the month of August and will finally hand it over to the IEBC.
