In a gazette notice published by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday, Ichung'wah was listed as the only candidate for Kikuyu Parliamentary seat. In response to the news, the MP tweeted "All Glory and Honour to the Almighty Lord.

Ichung'wah, who was elected under The National Alliance (TNA) Party, is defending his seat on a Jubilee Party following his win during the Jubilee nominations in April.
He is a member of the committee of Powers and Privileges and the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives in Parliament. The youthful Kenyan professional studied at Strathmore’s school of Accounting and graduated from the University of Nairobi with an Honours degree in Economics.
