Speaking in Likuyani constituency, Ruto said he would walk from his parents' home in Sugoi to Likuyani where Rachel lived.
"I was fond of using the same road when coming to see her, so I feel it is my duty to have it carpeted as a sign of appreciation to my in-laws." SDE quotes the DP who was referring to Soi-Kogo road.
It is at the meeting that Ruto made it clear, he was not interested in having a second wife but votes from his in-laws.
"If you can trust me with your daughter, then you should be able to trust me with your votes," he said.
Ruto and his wife Rachel have been married for many years and have six children.
