“We had an agreement that we would have a big stake in government because of our vote strength,” Mikindani MCA Duncan Onyango stated.
Onyango added that after the election, Joho had rewarded the community with a number of lucrative posts, only to start firing their sons and daughters a year later.
“Tubmun Otieno, Thaddeus Rajwayi, Joab Tumbo, Alome Achayo, Christine Atego, Walter Oselu, Martin Odhiambo, Charles Suji, among others, were all sacked for no good reason,” the agitated county legislator complained in reference to senior members of his community who had lost top senior positions in the Joho administration.
The top officials including the assembly speaker, the county executives, and heads of parastatals were replaced by members of the local coastal communities.
